Southside High School Quiz Bowl team captured its second consecutive 7A AGQBA state championship, defeating Rogers 265-235 Saturday at the Arkansas PBS studios on the UCA campus in Conway.

Senior Vivian Apple and sophomore Sam Pritchard each earned all-state honors.

The Mavs went 9-0 in the postseason, winning the 7A-West regional (3-0) and the state tournament (6-0).

Southside Quiz Bowl is coached by Josh Adams and Walter Woodie.

This is the seventh state Quiz Bowl title for the Mavericks, six under current head coach Josh Adams. Southside also won in 2021 defeating Bryant in the finals. The Mavs also won back-to-back state titles in 2013-14.
