On September 8th, 2025, a 15-year-old girl’s human remains were found in the front trunk of a Tesla that had been impounded at Hollywood Tow, in Hollywood, Los Angeles. The Tesla was later revealed to be registered to singer/songwriter D4vd. D4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, is known for his hit songs, including “Romantic Homicide” and “Here with Me.”
The police were called to the Hollywood lot after a reported foul odor was coming from the Tesla, where they then discovered a body bag with the remains of the 15-year-old girl. When the body was discovered, she was reportedly wearing a tube top, black leggings, a yellow metal chain bracelet, and stud earrings. She was also described to have wavy black hair and to weigh about 71 pounds.
At the time of the discovery, Burke was currently on his Withered World Tour. Even after the body was found, he still went on with his tour, performing in Minneapolis the day after the body was discovered. He later cancelled his Seattle show on September 17. Then, he cancelled all remaining shows spanning from the U.S all the way to Europe. Although Burke was on tour, he still cooperated fully with the authorities.
When the body was found on September 8th, 2025, authorities released a statement claiming the body was decomposed, which makes identification harder. Later, the girl was identified as 15 years old, Celeste Rivas. Rivas has been missing from Lake Elsinore since April 5, 2024, when she was 13 years old.
As of now, Burke is not labeled as a suspect in the case, but Rivas reportedly shares a matching tattoo with d4vd. To add on, Riva’s mother told authorities that her daughter’s boyfriend was allegedly named David. The police also raided a home connected to Burke and seized many electronic devices from the home.
“The reason d4vd hasn’t been arrested yet likely comes down to the autopsy,” Yosi Yahoudai, co-founder and managing partner at &Y Law, stated when asked why he has not been arrested yet.
The search will continue until the person who did this is caught and serves a punishment. As of now, there is a lack of named suspects, which makes finding this person much more difficult.
