The Southside Stars, the freshman dance team at Southside, are known for their impressive performances. Throughout the school year, The Stars participate in various events and shows where they perform several dances and entertain the audience with their graceful routines.
The Stars included Captain Hadleigh Clifton, Lieutenants Karlee Russin and Natalie Hill, Head Social Addelyn Armstrong, and Socials Bella Thornburg, Lilly Hood, and Caroline Cobb. The rest of the team included Adea Jetullahu, Ava Grady, Janiah Johnson, Jazlyn Mosley, Lilly Remy, Lynzee Dominguez, Marlee Donoho, Natali Espinosa, and Valeria Gonzalez.
Throughout the school year, the Stars also participated in a lot of charity work. Night to Shine was one of their biggest events, in which they helped run a prom for kids with special needs. The team members cheerfully welcome and dance with the attendees throughout the night, making them feel special and happy.
The stars performed a number of dances throughout the school year, but the team’s favorite was “Shooting Star,” a pom-style routine.
“It was a lot of fun and it was great to be a part of a team at the school, and show our school spirit,” Southside Star Marlee Donoho said.
