After taking the attacks from Hamas in Gaza, Israel gets tired and unleashes barrages of missile strikes.
Hundreds of missiles were launched, annihilating a 140-square-mile strip of Gaza, killing about 2 million people. Even in the aftermath, at least 2,778 people have been killed and just under 10,000 have been injured. According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Israeli forces have killed 371 families. However, before the attack, Israeli forces ordered the residents to evacuate before the massive ground operation. Following this order, a convoy of evacuees were hit, moving from Northern Gaza to Central Gaza. Israeli forces killed 70 people and injured 200. According to the Palestinian Government Press Office, Hamas blames Israel for the attack, while the IDF, or Israel Defense Force, told other news outlets that it didn’t have a role in the strike, instead blaming Hamas for the attack.
Because of the relentless attacks from Israel, Gaza is suffering in many supplies consisting of food, water, and sanitary products. While most support Israel in defending itself, tides are quickly turning into support for Hamas due to its now harsh conditions. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been displaced from their homes due to the missiles and ground forces.
Along with these dire conditions, the World Health Organization, or WHO, states that multiple Gaza hospitals are now in dire conditions.
“Forcing more than 2,000 patients to relocate to southern Gaza, where health facilities are already running at maximum capacity and unable to absorb a dramatic rise in the number of patients, could be tantamount to a death sentence.” Said WHO, in a statement.
The hospitals in Gaza condemned Israel’s evacuation orders of 22 hospitals with the industry treating more than 2,000 of those who were injured. The Ministry of Health informed WHO that it is impossible to evacuate vulnerable hospital patients, as it could endanger their lives with their current conditions.
