President Joe Biden states that he and his closest advisers came to an agreement regarding the Israel-Hamas war, making a deal that will provide Gaza with a 3-hour period every day which gives civilians the chance to flee from the action.
After Biden’s visit, he tried to make a deal with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that they had to pause the attack for at least three more days. After agreeing, Biden said that there was “no possibility” of a general cease-fire, so they came to a consensus. Israeli forces would give Gaza a daily 3-hour period to give civilians a chance to escape the fighting, allowing the safety of the Palestinians while still not fully drawing back from the front lines of Gaza. With the Hamas forces shrinking, and Israeli forces growing, the situation is increasing in intensity; with more and more Palestinians fleeing to the North to reach hospitals for their loved ones.
The Israeli Prime Minister said that there was no chance of a cease-fire, not until Hamas gave back the 231 hostages that were taken. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken warned the Prime Minister of Israel that it is harming the chances of a possibility for peace unless it acts quickly to improve the crisis that all of the civilians are going through. Lack of food, power, water, and, most of all, no home, makes the Palestinians in Gaza more desperate than ever. Over 70% of all Palestinians in Gaza have fled their homes, making it easier for Israeli forces to get inside Gaza without harming bystanders.
Emmanual Macron, the French President, opened a Gaza aid conference meeting, telling Israel to appeal to prioritizing and protecting civilians, stating that “all lives have equal worth.”
