With 22 killed and 177 injured in Israeli airstrikes, the war continues to devastate Lebanon in central Beirut on Thursday evening.
Reporters note that there were multiple loud explosions; chaos seemed to reign down upon the surrounding area. Immediately, several ambulances arrived on the scene to safeguard the return of the injured.
Not only this, but this is the third time Israel has launched deadly airstrikes on the city from outside the southern suburb of Dahieh, where it has struck repeatedly, killing many people of military importance along with civilians.
With the raging war and never ending casualties, many ask the same question. “Will this war never end?” or “Will there ever be peace?” questions that are concerningly never answered. Along with the stunning deaths and gruesome sights, both Lebanon and Gaza are both in near-anarchy. The war is damaging the morale, decreasing the hopes on one side while boosting the other.
President Masoud Pezeshkian made “encouraging statements” at the United General Assembly last month, but those statements have been “undermined by the current escalation.” Pezeshkian said in a statement at the United Nations that his country is ready to engage with the West on its disputed nuclear program, and also said Iran was ready to lay down its arms if Israel did the same.
Tensions are sky-rocketing, the intense heat is amplifying, and the terror on both ends is only ever-increasing. Threats of escalation, along with the proven firepower, all prove these points to be true. All of the displaced civilians are struggling to find more ways out of the war, desperately trying to save whatever they have left.
Many hope that this war could one day come to an end, for the action is getting bloody quickly.
