An Exit Poll for an election can be defined as a survey based on interviews with voters as they leave (or exit) their balloting locations. These results are then grouped into categories based on race and age. They are used to estimate the outcome of an election in a particular body of voters in a specified area.
Harris would receive 53% of women’s votes nationwide, while Trump would receive 45%. Even still, Trump was up 3% from a 2020 election poll. Trump received 57% of White voters, down 1% from 2020, and Harris received 41%. Harris would receive 85% of Black voters. She received votes from 77% of Black men and 91% of Black women nationwide. Trump would be up 1% from 2020, receiving 13% of Black voters.
As for the White community, Trump had the edge. He received 60% of White men to Harris’s 37% and received 53% of White women voters to Harris’s 45%. Trump also received 52% of voters aged 45+ to Harris’s 46%. This put Trump up 1% from 2020. 52% of voters nationwide said they trusted Trump more to handle the economy. 46% said they trusted Harris more. Overall, Harris would receive strong support from the Black community, and Trump would receive strong support from White voters.
