Lords of the Fallen is an extremely challenging game for those who are new to its genre. Lords of the Fallen is similar to those in its past, such as Dark Souls 1, 2, and 3, which are renowned as some of the most difficult games of all time. Lords of the Fallen boasts advanced melee combat along with strategic thinking, emphasizing the use of the Umbral Lamp, a tool the game assigned to you as a useful implementation at the beginning of the game; you have the potential to kill anything if you have enough skill. With this umbral lamp, you can shed its light onto the world, which allows you to see into the “umbral realm”, a distorted version of reality that has unfathomable creatures. At first glance, players may not want to enter this “umbral realm”, but, entering this realm alters the world, and could potentially allow you to see secrets and open up previously-blocked pathways; a feature that rarely any game has.
People also say that it is extremely difficult and way too hard and buggy, however, this is a new game, so it is going to be tweaked as it progresses. For those who are new to the genre, they will find the game more difficult than anything they have played before. However, if they have played any of the Bloodborne, Elden Ring, or any of the other Dark Souls games, they will find the game well fitted to their standards.
The game is currently being “review-bombed”, which means that it is being hit by multiple negative reviews because of its performance issues or difficult bosses the game may have. This is due to the fact that the game is newly released, and is constantly being patched everyday. Though the PvP, or player vs player, aspect is a little broken as of the time of this article; PvE, or players vs enemies, is outstandingly fun. The graphics are top-tier with the game being somewhat linear and a little bit exploration-based.
Overall, Lords of the Fallen is one of the greatest games, and paired with its high graphics, stunning sights, and amazing combat, the game is one of the best looking with varying builds you can try to fit your customs in combat and gameplay.
