Nov. 22, 2024 is the official release for the Wicked movie. Based on the Broadway show and book. 

Wicked follows Elphaba, a young woman misunderstood for her green skin, and Galinda, who has an unflinching desire for popularity. They form an unlikely friendship and go on an adventure to meet the Wizard of Oz. But their friendship reaches a crossroads when their lives start to take very different paths. Cynthia Erivo plays Elphaba. Ervio is known for her role as Harriet Tubman in the movie “Harriet.” Erivo is also a Tony Award winner and Grammy Award winner for Best Musical Theater Album. Ariana Grande plays Galinda. Grande is known for her time acting on Nickelodeon and her music career. Grande is also a Grammy winner for her vocal albums and solo performances. The movie also stars Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero Tigelaar, Jeff Goldblum as The Wizard, Ethan Slater as Boq, Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Peter Dinklage as Dr. Dillamond, Bowen Yang as Pfannee, Keala Settle as Miss Coddie, and Marissa Bode as Nessarose. 

Because the Broadway show is based on a book called Wicked written by Gregory Maguire, they cut down a lot of the information. The original book is over 500 hundred pages long. So, the movie is going to be split into two movies so they can put as much information into them as possible. The first movie will be like act one, and the second movie will be like act two. The Broadway show was written by Winnie Holzman, who is mostly known for her work on Wicked, and the movie was directed by Jon M. Chu, who directed the In The Heights movie, Crazy Rich Asians, and Now You See Me 2. 

This movie will be set with music, dancing, scenery, acting, and a great story. People will be spilling into theaters to watch Elphaba and Galinda create their unlikely friendship and their adventures together.
