Dancing With the Stars, a reality competition show, is celebrating its 34th season on our screens. The show first premiered in June of 2005 and is now world-renowned and loved. It took center stage with its interesting concept; professional ballroom dancers are randomly given a celebrity that they must train and teach ballroom techniques to, and compete with other couples for the end prize, the Mirrorball. The winning couple is chosen by fans, who participate in online voting by texting a phone number.
Season 34 is packed with outstanding celebrities. From nostalgia favorites, such as Danielle Fishel who famously starred in the early 2000s sitcom Boy Meets World, or Elaine Hendrix who gained fame from the Disney original movie Parent Trap, to online social media stars like Whitney Levitt and Jen Affleck from Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. But, some celebrities question the legitimacy of being on the show. Dylan Efron, Zac Efron’s younger brother, is primarily known for his last name. While he has created his own content, many people online have only attributed him to his last name.
Along these lines, online fans have also criticized the celebrities who have been chosen to dance alongside the pros. Corey Feldman is a child actor, musician, and alleged creep. His musical group, Corey’s Angels, has resurfaced since his time on the show, and people have been pointing out the weird behavior that Feldman showed to the women in his group. Along with this, some of the women have even made claims that Feldman had sexually assaulted or harassed them while working with him. Having Feldman on Dancing with the Stars, made many fans have a sour view of the show.
This upcoming Tuesday is Halloween-themed to celebrate the holiday. The show airs live on ABC and Hulu at 7 pm CT, the same time live voting opens. The season is nowhere near over yet, and fans are patiently waiting every week for Tuesday night.
